Join NSWA October 26-28th for a Friday Harbor Labs Retreat

Would you like to learn about marine research happening here in Washington? Or perhaps you'd enjoy a quiet writing retreat while gazing at the Salish Sea? If so, join NSWA for a trip to the University of Washington's Friday Harbor Labs this October!

Over the course of the trip, you can expect to meet researchers, to have your hair ruffled by salty sea breezes and to enjoy the company of your fellow science writers. We will be staying in cozy cabins on the grounds of Friday Harbor Labs, which is located on San Juan Island.

Please RSVP now to claim your spot. The cost to RSVP is $160 and covers the cost of your lodging for two nights. Additional costs in the form of ferry rides and food are not included.

Accommodations

We will be staying in cabins on the Friday Harbor Labs grounds. Each cabin sleeps two people (so you may have an NSWA roommate!) and is equipped with a bathroom and a full kitchen. You can prepare food in your cabin, or drive the 5 mins to town for coffee and meals. The goal is to have an enjoyable, lightly structured trip, so you should plan to follow your heart, rather than a strict schedule or plan.

About Friday Harbor Labs

The mission of Friday Harbor Labs is to provide a world-renowned facility that uses research, education, and outreach to expand global understanding and appreciation of the marine environment and its living resources - from genomes to biomes.
