Join fellow science writers this fall for a weekend of education and nature-inspiration as we venture to the Elwha River. We’ll see how the river has changed since 2012 and be guided by representatives of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and NOAA, who will lead a walking tour and discuss ongoing conservation efforts.
For hikers, there will be an optional six-mile (roundtrip) moderate hike to see the remnants of the dam. The goal of the weekend is to offer insight, inspiration, and personal restoration. Expect to see Chinook and Pink Salmon, spectacular views and local habitats, and to relax beside the campfire with your fellow science writers.
Space is limited. Reserve your spot for $50 per person.
